Carmel graduate Aiden Tarantino is taking advantage of the three races a redshirt is allowed to run at Azusa Pacific, finishing seventh overall at the Riverside Invitational. Running unattached, Tartantino clocked 25:12.4 over eight kilometers (4.97 miles), finishing just 12 seconds behind the champion in his first collegiate race. Tartantino has been training with Azusa Pacific's top seven runners. He holds Carmel's record in cross-country over a three-mile course. Tartantino also broke the school record in the 1,600 meters last year in track to reach the Central Coast Section finals.
